They either failed one or more subjects or refrained from taking the exam last year, Nahid said.
He added that the students who will fail up to three topics will be permitted to enroll in class nine. But next year, they have to pass the subjects they have not in years to get promoted to the next class i.e Class nine for participating next public examination SSC/Dhakil just after two years.

The total number of examinees is 3,68,311 more than last year. Besides this year, the number of female students is 1,37,585 more than the male them. Mention that JSC and JDC exams will be held for the second time, Nahid said the students will be encouraged when they receive a certificate upon graduation. And it will also reduce the fear of public inquiries among students.

Apart from Bangla second paper, English first and second paper, and mathematics, the exam has been held under the Creative question-answer method, he said. Answering a question, he said the government would take action against principals who would bar relatively weak students from appearing in the exam to ensure hundred percent passes at their institutions.
The exams will be three hours long. However, students with physical disabilities get 20 extra minutes, the minister said.
Dhaka Board has the highest 4.64 lakh examinees, while Barisal board has the lowest 85,532.
School students will take Bangla first paper while madrasa students have been taken Bangla literature on the first day. The studies completed on 21 November.
